Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Matthew K — 15 Jul 2013
The plot is a little convoluted at times, and definitely needs the explanation given toward the end in order to fully connect the dots without subsequent viewings. That doesn't mean that the film is bad, however.
The acting is great, the set design and music choices really immerse the viewer in the setting, and the characters are intriguing. The story, though a bit more complicated than most crime films, has a plot that isn't really that original.
The ending shootout, however, is thrilling and well done. Definitely worth a watch.
