Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Patrick K — 21 Oct 2013
Set in the 50s this movie is based upon the corruption in the LAPD and it takes three unlikely allies following leads that lead back to guys within their own department. This is filmed in a classical style to give it the proper 50s style.
Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce were all awesome as the three cops investigating the homicides in their own unique ways and each of the characters they portrayed were done with class and conviction as was Kim Basinger who played quite a good hooker and Danny DeVito as a photographer working closely with Spacey's character.
James Cromwell does play quite a good dodgy cop along with others who play his associates. This film is another that I wish I saw earlier as it was quite fun to watch and could be one of the top 50 films of the 90s.
Well Done to all involved.
