One of the best period crime dramas, L.A. Confidential serves up a tale of police corruption and hollywood glamour that can't be more perfect than it presents itself. Director Curtis Hanson tears away the hollywood varnish and give us an unpolished, bare bones, and gritty murder mystery for the ages.
Truly a film epic on its terms, L.A. Confidential gives us powerful acting, brilliant writing, and masterful direction that only gets better.
