Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Muhammed A — 07 Jan 2012
L.A Confidential - " The best Detective investigation movie ever made!! ".
L.A Confidential is not just any detective movie but the uncanny truth of what goes on inside the LAPD even today. The movie is a bold and brave portrayal of the corrupt and warped Police Department in the country of USA. Even after 15 years of this movie's release , an LAPD policeman will be haunted with conscience and guilt just by watching this movie. The life in Los Angeles Hollywood in the 1950's is shown with precision and accuracy with the correct montage and beautiful photography. The movie is adapted from the novel written by Roy Mcellroy. The movie is thrilling and very clandestine, it takes time for making sense out of us. The ensemble cast is one of the best of all time with Russell Crowe , Guy Pearce, Kevin Spacey and Kim Bassinger taking the lead roles and doing those lead roles amazingly. The script is damn amazing and gets you really intrigued and interested in the movie all the time. The editing and montage are unique and classy , the montage is like an espionage thriller where the surprises come out in small packages from time to time. The direction is spectacular and innovative , never before has a detective investigation story so powerfully and terrifyingly told. The characters of the movie may find so much similar to real life characters as this is what the Los Angeles police department is all about - Payoffs ,Bankrolls and lots and lots of bribes from gangsters , pimps , hookers etc. This movie will surely raise an eyebrow for a layman and make him to research more on these corruptions inside the Police Department. Although there are many movies that has followed the footsteps of this movie about making movies on corruption inside the LAPD this movie remains the most intense most thrilling most intriguing detective investigation movie ever made.
My rating: A+.
