Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Greg B — 06 Aug 2012
A flat out masterpiece. One the best crime/neo-noir/cop films ever made. The best cast assembled of the last 20 years. However Bassinger who did not deserve the Oscar and who is just out of place in this film.
Cromwell as always delivers a performance that keeps you guessing.Crow and Pierce make great American debuts in this film. The cinematography, color palette and script are first.Hanson deserved the Oscar for best adapted screenplay.
