Review of La Belle Noiseuse (1991) by Michael L — 03 Feb 2009
La Belle Noiseuse is often masterfully executed, enhanced by a naturalistic style that creates a sense of life and vibrancy. The camera captures the wind as it shakes the leaves on a tree, or the way in which changing sunlight alters the atmosphere of a room.
However, it does feel a bit too long, and the themes are not quite as deep as Rivette may have intended.
