Review of Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002) by Erik G — 26 Jan 2012
In a place of mysterious ancient secrets, the greatest hero the world has known is about to kick his first butt...IT'S A 1970s HONG KONG FILM SPOOF! 'Kung Pow! Enter The Fist', with its badly dubbed dialogue, imagery edits, and comedic quality remade over an old kung-fu film, reminds me a lot of the old 1970s Jackie Chan films and even made its seriousness better.
Watching this really made me laugh off! :-D When a highly-skilled martial artist known as "The Chosen One" sets out to avenge his family's death, he faces his greatest challenges yet: a cow with a deadly udder and a warlord who insists everyone call him "Betty".
Written, directed, and starring the great acting performance of Steve Oedekerk, who inserts himself into the old chop-socky film footage.
