Review of Kung Fury (2015) by Andrew H — 01 Jun 2015
Kung Fury shows off everything ridiculous yet fun about 80s action and amps it up to eleven. It knows what it wants to be and does it's job very well. From the rough VHS quality to the cheesy one-liners to the over-the-top scenarios the characters are put in, it's hard not to find at least one thing enjoyable.
At thirty minutes, it's the perfect length to give the audience what they want without stretching it thin. Even when the momentum starts to fade, it picks itself back up with moments that are hard to expect coming.
Anyone who is a fan of over-the-top, hyper violent goofiness from decades gone by will have a blast with this film.
