Review of Kung Fury (2015) by Ryan K — 30 Oct 2015

Absolutely brilliant at points. Some of the jokes have been done before in action movie satire but this short film turns it up to 11. It is very much about nostalgia for men of a certain age and me being a man of that age found myself going "Oh yeah, that thing." If you are not in the demo I can see a lot of this not making a whole lot of sense to you. There are parts that feel awkward bad. Intentionally awkward, but akward none the less. Some of the timing is a bit rough but I'm happy I gave it a shot. It is a parody film without a doubt, which relies on you being familiar with the media from which it draws its inspiration.
