This franchise is becoming tired. Cracks are showing, and new characters and dynamics are being introduced to keep things fresh. The plot is formulaic, as if it came off a Hollywood shelf under the "2nd sequel" shelf.
It is a largely watchable, fair, pleasant movie. Not good. Definitely not great. It is running into what the Despicable Me and Shrek franchises ran into. They get spoiled with age, unlike the Toy Story franchise.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is good, harmless fodder for the under 10 age category.
