Review of Kung Fu Panda (2008) by Josh R — 25 Jul 2013

The visual design and computer animation in this Kung Fu comedy were outstanding. There were times when I felt I was watching stuffed animals come to life instead of animated characters. The fur, clothing, facial expressions, and body language were phenomenal.

The plot is formulaic and predictable, but the visuals are so unique that they sell it very well. I particularly liked some of the minor characters and the way they were animated, such as Po's father and the temple geese and pigs who scuttle about serving the Kung Fu masters and students.

You can tell the crew paid a lot of attention to the little details. All in all, a very enjoyable movie.
