I can't stand Jack Black, even animated. The first movie surprised me, but I knew what I was getting into this time, and there was no hiding how much of a buffoon he is. What made it charming in the first, his clumsiness and naiveness, was just annoying in this film.
The movie is corny and humorless despite the numerous failed jokes. What made it bearable was the abundance of action and a nice 3rd act.
