Review of Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) by Leeanne N — 26 Dec 2012
The story is about Po who is now successful as the Dragon Warrior. But a group of villains have come to threaten the valley who plan to use a secret weapon to conquer China and destroy Kung Fu. Po must face his past in order to unlock the strength he needs to defeat the threat that China is under.
That is why this movie is PG rated. Kung Fu Panda 2 has a strong script to hold it's even bigger cast than the first movie and focuses less on the comedy and more on the story adding a darker tone to the border of the kid-friendly atmosphere that we previously witnessed in the first film.
The movie brings more new actors to voice more deadly villains to the sequel. Jack Black still owns as Po even till this day. Jack Black gets a bigger role as Monkey because he only had 3-5 lines in the first film and making faces and monkey sounds doesn't count.
I think the coolest villain out of the group of villains was Jean-Claude Van Damme as Master Croc because crocodiles are deadly creatures and so we had The Muscles From Brussels voice that animal: That's some pretty badass shit for a kids' movie.
Kung Fu Panda 2 gets a somewhat 10/10.
