Review of Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) by Vivian G — 31 Oct 2013
My Brother walked in as I started the movie, and bearing in mind he's younger than me, he said "why are you watching a silly kids movie?". I didn't reply to him, I didn't even acknowledge him, I just continued watching.
Five minutes later he is still making remarks about the film, I still don't reply. As Kung Fu Panda 2 progresses he shuts up, starts laughing at going wow at some of the visuals. By the end he had shut up and enjoyed the movie, and I said to him "Silly and kiddy enough for you?" He felt awkward.
Kung Fu Panda 2 rocks, screw silliness this film is epic scale and laugh out loud, it's undoubtedly one of the most action packed animated films since The Incredibles. Most animated movies are over the top and fun, but this film is ridiculously over the top which makes it even more fun than a lot of animated titles out lately.
It also features eye popping 3D that boasts incredible depth and a barrage of jaw dropping pop out effects that really do pop out the screen and into your face! The voice overs are spectacular too, the actors feel like they are embracing their characters, which really does come across throughout.
The collapsing monastery scene is definitely the most awesome and explosive action sequence to ever grace an animated movie, the chaos that ensues is mind blowing and there more many more epic sequences before and after such as wild rooftop chases and kick ass fights.
The animation is just packed with detail and vibrant colours, you know that the creators really put effort and time into these films. The voice overs are impeccable, Kung Fu Panda 2 is better than the first film by miles.
