Review of Kung Fu Hustle (2004) by Jay L — 06 Dec 2010
Kung Fu Hustle is a serious bundle of fun and entertainment that nearly has all of the elements of the perfect popcorn flick. Exciting, hilarious, original, and inventive this film is a perfect mix between Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and The Matrix. It has some of the most visually original and spectacular special effects and action sequences that I have been witness to. A wild ride from start to finish that doesn't let off the gas pedal until the credits role. A very violently stylish film that is candy to the eyes. A foreign language film that will blow you away, simply stunning and also quite smart.
Director, writer, and actor Stephen Chow stars and balnces all three of his duties with grace. He collaborates with the famed choreographer of The Matrix to bring the intensity of the action sequences to life. A great job by cast and crew on this one as it is simply put, thrilling and entertaining. A great tribute and parody of the great Kung-Fu films of the past.
