Review of Kung Fu Dunk (2008) by Aluap E — 16 Sep 2008
Okay here comes the cliche... Jay Chou fans rejoice! Plenty of screen time for our hero in yet another ridiculous "Kung Fu XXXXX" movies, I think even the goofy "Kung Fu Hip Hop" which I just saw before this was better.
Basketball and even Kung Fu are reduced to almost a farce as the action is over-the-top but not in a satirical way making fun of the genre. Eric Tseng is out and out annoying in this movie as well as Chou's agent, and definitely made me cringe whenever he entered the scene.
The supporting "masters" of the temple, all well known faces, were given too few scenes except another crazy kung fu fight in the middle of the final game. Don't even get me started on the crazy ending.
.. Yep it's a crazy Lunar New Year movie but not a good one except for Jay Chou fans.
