Review of Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter (2014) by Aaron C — 12 May 2015
A tale of urban social disconnect and the difficulties of nonconformism coupled with dreams of something far more valuable than just being. Kumiko reminds viewers of those who live differently and yearn for a buried treasure in a faraway land.
The bunny and calls to mom are emotionally poignant, and it was heartwarming to watch the kindness of strangers in an otherwise cold bleak landscape.
