Review of Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) by Jordan O — 22 Nov 2016

Really enjoyed it until the end of Act 2. It seems like this was rearing to not be a kids movie but was then constrained by the aim for a PG rating. Here's the rub: earn your deaths and stick to your resolution or at least make it clear.

I kept expecting a character to return but no - that lame death they show you is a real death. If you're expecting an earned ending don't hold your breath but the animation is beautiful. Just frustrating the last third.
