Charlize has a nice voice but without any inflection it's nowhere near what I expected that monkey to sound like. The Beetle character is an obvious ripoff of The Tick, even down to the use of the word destiny.
And how is Kubo saved by the magic spell of flight when his aunts can fly? Other than these technical issues the art is very good, but the story is formulaic and hollow. Same goes for the cover of "As My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Wow this movie was WAY overrated.
