Review of Ktown Cowboys (2015) by Gershom B — 08 Apr 2016
After living abroad in South Korea and returning to America this movie gave me the feels! As mentioned in other reviews the 4th wall is broken to explain Korean terms to non-Korean speakers. Ktown isn't exactly like Korea but it has its own unique vibe which can be seen in this movie.
I was a big fan of the webisodes and waited years for this movie to come out like so many others! Everyone's a bit older but certainly not wiser in the case of one of the characters lol. You'll see ;) It's like seeing your old friends again.
There's a brotherhood that can be seen in this movie and you'll see "Jeong" expressed subtly in many of the segments. Some of the humor is trashy but that comes with the territory. This movie has comedy, a bit of romance, and is basically just a bunch of Asian bros dealing with the curveballs that life throws at us.
It's no "Hangover", but it's as realistic as it gets when you wanna feel like you're in Ktown...and that in itself is awesome.
