Review of Krrish (2006) by Connie V — 17 Jun 2007
The sequal to Koi...Mil Gaya...and therefore I had to watch it. In this one, Hrithik Roshan plays his own son...a super hero. Don't ask. But anyway, the first half of the movie dragged like woah...
But when "Krishna" finally turned super hero, and named himself "Krrish" (how original), it really picked up. Honestly I had no idea how the end was going to turn out-I was genuinely surprised (which you CAN'T very often say about bollywood).
Additionally the special effects were GREAT for any movie (American or not) and the fight scenes were done by the same people who did Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, and Shaolin Soccer. However, the good songs (of which there were only 4), and the amazing (again) performance by Hrithik Roshan were offset by an absolutely abhorrent female lead.
I don't really think it was the actresses' fault, however, every time she was on the screen (for most of this three hour movie), the only thing one can do is try to close one's eyes, plug the ears.
..and stop reading the subtitles. Ugh.
