Review of Krisha (2016) by Arseniy V — 09 Oct 2016
Some might say that there's nothing new here. That this has been done, even as recently as I Smile Back. While other may (rightly) retort that there's unlikely to be anything all that new under the sun.
So what? What are we supposed to do, stop expressing ourselves altogether? The bottom line is that it's really good. I.e. Honest, poignant. And, especially for this sort of film, that's a very difficult thing to achieve.
Just cause it's been done, doesn't mean it isn't hard to do or worth doing. And for those who, like me, start feeling that things are getting a little stale toward the end here - just give it a few.
It gets there.
