Review of Krisha (2016) by Frank J — 23 Nov 2016
Really hit a nerve. Taps into the fears we all have that we may never be "all right" or have it all together, and to such a degree that it leaves us on the sidelines of our own lives. Krisha conjures more than the push and pull of addiction, always teetering on a precipice at the worst moments.
Instead it shines a light into a cracked door and leaves the viewer with the sense that there's more to addiction than chemical dependency and willpower, that there's a complicated nerve network of psychological trauma and likely mental illness that gets so often overshadowed by the theatrics of addiction.
