Review of Krepkiy Oreshek (1968) by Josh K — 18 Nov 2013
This is the ultimate action film or the ultimate Christmas action film. Also, at the same time it seems like Bruce Willis's best film. The film follows a New York City who travels to Los Angeles to spend Christmas with his wife and children.
After terrorists take over a skyscraper and the occupants hostage, including the cop's wife, the cop decides to use his own tactics to stop the terrorists. Willis is terrific as the lead character, bringing both comedy and drama to his role.
Alan Rickman perfectly leads the group of villains, proving that he can depict an evil villain. The action scenes are great, most notably the final fight sequence, while the music and cinematography perfectly ad to the film.
The film's catchphrase "Yippe Kay-Yay" and everything else make this film an instant action classic. Also, watch it during Christmas, it's quite fun.
