Review of Krampus (2015) by Douglas O — 08 Dec 2015
The comparison to Gremlins is very much true for Krampus. But I would like to add a few more movie similarities to give an idea of how awesome and surprising this movie was for me. It had the humor and practical effects charm of Scrooged.
Also, it had the comedy/spirit Christmas Vacation. I found all the characters very appropriate for the story. In the beginning I was thinking that most were cannon fodder for the killing but the situation mad me give a damn if they got the axe.
Most will see a lot of scene that (in my view) pay homage the the movies I have just mentioned. Krampus is a Gem for a movie goer like my self. It has easily shot up to top favorite movies of 2015. I see my self re-watching it over and over just as other horror comedy movies I adore such as Slither and Tremors.
