"Krampus" has the trappings of a traditional, cautionary holiday tale. It looks good, it starts off strongly, and the characters are likeable. Unfortunately, it takes forever to get going and when it does, it falls back on lesser horror cliches.
The characters get dumber, the logic gets muddier, and the "kills" don't satisfy. All of these things lead to an ending that doesn't really earn its twist and doesn't quite bite like it should.
