Works better as an anti-holiday comedy than a straight-up horror. Completely asinine, but so much fun to watch! I really enjoyed the story of the family having lost its Christmas spirit and then witnessing the ramifications of their apathy.
The opening credits alone are the perfect comment on how absolutely insane, vicious animals we become during these times of great joy. Mass consumerism, Walmart riots, have become commonplace in the US, maybe we all DO need a little Krampus every now and then.
