Review of Krampus (2015) by Don S — 11 Dec 2016
An enjoyable addition to the holiday season! Just the right amount of humor and scary - not for kids, but not a blood dripping film either. Lots of strong scares though! I loved the opening scene with the juxtaposition of Bing Crosby's "It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas" playing while the insanity of over consumerism is being shown on the screen! Nice message! The cast is really good, with Krista Stadler being dead on perfect in her role! And I liked the legend of Krampus - he is the shadow of Saint Nicholas, and like he had for thousands of years, Krampus came not to reward, but to punish. Not to give, but to take. Sorta makes for a killer Christmas, huh? ;-).
What I did not like - my daughter outdoors screaming bloody murder = I move heaven and earth to save her!!! I do not, repeat DO NOT!, go back inside the house! What dad would, Adam Scott?
