Review of Krampus (2015) by Jason M — 25 Jan 2016

I was expecting a cheap, campy film, so I was not entirely disappointed. Mediocre plot, poor costumes, few special effects hardly make this a recommended choice. However, I was intrigued, if not fascinated by the Krampus folklore so I'm glad that this story is being exposed to American audiences.

The early CGI images of Krampus hopping from the rooftops left me eagerly awaiting more. Unfortunately, that was it! What came after were very cheesy costumes, that were so rubbery rigid that they failed to move, similar to a cheap Hallowe'en mask. I am somewhat confused by the ending, but since this was a novelty viewing, I'm not fussed at all.

There is no gore in this film. The best way to describe its horror content is that it is in line with The Ghoulies or Gremlins.
