The very first frame opens up with Meryl Streep showing care for her child.Surprise awaits in the next five minutes when she leaves Dustin Hoffman and the child (played by Justin Henry) behind to discover her 'own self'.
Dustin Hoffman ,as always puts forth a mind blowing performance.Showing his care for his child amidst his work schedule ,it's a delight to watch him for the next 50 minutes(there's no Streep mind you!). Al Pacino, Marlon Brando just name them and I'm sure none of them would've come even closer to Hoffman.
The rest of the movie is about the battle for the child.
A wonderful short climax and the movie ends showing Meryl Streep ,a happy looking woman now going to meet her son in Hoffman's apartment.
This movie is a must watch and this is Hoffman Hoffman all the way.
