Dustin Hoffman was superb in this. I had never seen him in anything quite like this, and he was great. 2nd only to his performance in Hook. The child actor is good too, without overdoing the cuteness part.
Streep comes off a little crazy, but I think that is intentional. Very well made, and I assume for the time it was made, somewhat ground breaking in regards to subject of the movie. The long shot of Hoffman running through the streets of NYC to the hospital holding his child was particularly memorable for me.
A terrible movie poster though.
