An advertising executive is left with the responsibility of caring for his son Billy alone after his wife suddenly leaves him. This touching, sweet and sometimes tear jerking father son film, and also everyone's favourite divorce flick, set a tone for similar family dramas that would come out during the following decade.
Great performance by Dustin Hoffmann as the father who slowly discovers the joys of being a parent, and Meryl Streep as the wife.
