Review of Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) by Daryl L — 19 Aug 2013
Certified tearjerker. This film would be very different if Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep did not take the main roles. Hoffman's approach to every role he plays is intelligent, always confident, delivering ecstatic performance with natural low-keyed voice.
Streep is a natural beauty, both physically and precociously. The child actor, Justin Henry reminds me of Nino Muhlach in Lino Brocka's 1978 movie "Ang Tatay Kong Nanay". Might I say the whole "Kramer" reminds me of "Ang Tatay".
Children have separation anxiety. It is very evident in both films. There is nothing more heartbreaking in films than seeing children getting depressed (or dogs dying).
