Review of Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) by Giano P — 02 Jan 2010
I can see why this movie won 5 Oscars.... Kramer vs. Kramer has a very touching story which actually shows the mother abandoning her husband and kid - in movies we usually see the father leaving for another woman but here we have the mom bored from her life and deciding to leave - so this is what makes it different from the rest. I actually thought it was gonna be a serious court-room movie but it was a beautiful father and son relationship film. in the end, out of no where tears started coming down my cheeks...
Dustin Hoffman did a magnificent job as the father trying to balance his job with family matters, Meryl Streep was great and looked so young and beautiful but she was kindda like a villain that you'll hate and try to find an excuse for what she did but you would fail. Justin Henry was incredible as the son, although he was a kid, I felt he was an adult with the way he dealt with the separation of his parents; that boy did a very great job for his age, he really surprised me.
