Awww. what a cute film. it is a little too cute at moments. however, there are some very brutal moments that show some of the horrors of divorce. Dustin Hoffman does a very good job as Ted Kramer, an average joe who is trying to live with the added responsibility of being the only parent of an 8 year old while trying to juggle his job on top of that.

Meryl Streep also does a really good job as ex-Mrs. Kramer who just gets up and leaves one day to go live for herself. also, the kid who plays little Kramer does a very good job as well. one thing I do not understand, is when the kid falls down at the playground and cuts his head open, and ted RUSHES HIM TO THE HOSPITAL IN A FRENZIED PANIC ON FOOT and then doesn't leave his kid for a minute while he is being stitched up.

seems like a good father right? yes. not in the divorce court though. they use that against him. how? they say that he is a horrible parent becasue the kid got injured in the first place. KIDS GET INJURED ON THE PLAYGROUND ALL THE TIME!! yeesh.

I don't get that. anyway, enough about my playground/divorce court rant. the acting was good ant the story was very touching in many parts. Final Verdict: mistake. despite the good performances and touching momnets, there is one reason that this movie should not have been given the Best Picture award, a little movie I like to call Apocalypse Now.

wow that movie was waaaaaay better than this one.
