Kontroll tries to be too many things and results in not being particularly amazing in any. It's a strange combo of thriller, action, comedy, romance and drama. If one or two genres were focused on it would feel more cohesive and less like a mash-up.
Also, a lot was lost in translation. The remake should be great.
