Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Jarody — 13 Jan 2018
While I do have complaints about "Kong: Skull Island", there is doubting that this is just a really fun movie. The exciting action and decent performances make for a really enjoyable time, which is outstanding for a monster movie, considering most of them are absolute garbage.
However it is very difficult to connect with the majority of the characters, and they all get similar amounts of focus, which sounds like a good thing but when you have this big of a cast you really struggle to flesh out every single one of them.
As well as that there are quite big structural issues and large plot holes. However, this movie was a pleasant surprise for me as it is difficult to find good monster movies these days, and if you ignore the structural issues you'll have a really fun time watching Kong: Skull Island.
