Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Flexedacorn — 19 Apr 2017
The second movie in the Monster movie cinematic universe (Godzilla being the first). Where as Godzilla kept teasing you with brief appearances, Kong was not camera shy in the least. From the very beginning of the movie you get put right into the action. The movie takes place right after the Vietnam War and uses a lot of the music from the time period. A little too much music at times, but defiantly helps to set the overall tone.
Kong: Skull Island benefits from the star cast of Tom Hiddleston, Bri Larson, Sam Jackson, and John Goodman to name a few. The best in my opinion is John C. Reilly who really steals every scene he is in with his sense humor. In the end it’s a Giant Monster (Kaiju) movie, so if you like the genre you will not be disappointed.
