Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Dave J — 28 May 2017
As part of a shared universe it strays from the original storyline. This proves to make it somewhat more interesting, but they never really fully exploit the creative opportunity. The island is colorful and dangerous, but not nearly as active as Peter Jackson's vision.
Its a fun ride, but often feels like a set up to its franchised universe. A simple, but enjoyable experience.
