Dazzling special effects? Yes. Mystery, suspense, intrigue? No. Jordan Vogt-Roberts' whistle-shop crash course of a Kong movie is in the same stable as its partner-film, 2014's Godzilla (which the whole exercise hastily stomps along to following-up); spectacular in action, shallow in story.
