Review of Kokoda (2006) by Brad W — 10 Sep 2008
Very ordinary. Infact, I hated it so much it made my blood boil. The person that made it should stick to arthouse films and leave true stories to the professionals. Cinematography was fine, costumes, setting and casting was fine.
The scripting and plotting was a figment of someones imagination. That speach by the Lt col of the 39th made me want to puke it was so pathetically weak. There was far too much BS in the film for it to be a real tribute to the no BS Australian soldiers of WW2.
As one veteran of Kokoda who found the film appalling said "...it just wasn't like that...".
