Okay. The first 100 minutes of this movie is like gold. Really. It's maybe the best 100 minutes of a disaster/thriller film I've ever seen. Then the twist comes. The horrible, illogical, completely unaware of it's own absurdity twist.
BUT, it's worth seeing for the ride there. Truly. The mystery and allure in the setup is more than enough to recommend this movie. It's just sad that the outcome wasn't more grounded. And I give it credit for bleakness.
..it's one of the bleaker big budget films in recent memory. But the ending...it just sucks. I'm sure Scientologists loved it though.
