Review of Knowing (2009) by Patryk C — 26 Jul 2012

Another film with bits and pieces of coherence and interesting ideas that falters due to the bounds it takes at the audiences expense and super serious tone. Nicholas Cage stars in Alex Proyas' "Knowing" which involves Cage's character being given a mysterious paper by his son containing various numbers with no organizational method at first glance.

Upon further examination and trial and error, which costs lives and has devastating consequences, the puzzle unravels bit by bit. The whole time there are a group of people in close proximity that seem to have the upper hand and knowledge who aren't as they seem to be.

The film has a very sci-fi feel and while not being a direct work is more indirectly so and is entertaining enough to pass the time but falls apart under closer look.
