Review of Knowing (2009) by Luc P — 10 May 2013
Nicolas Cage plays a widower whose son is given a number of figures which was buryed in the yard of an elementary school 50 years ago. After examining the sequence, he finds that it is a list of major disaster that took place in the world, and the final one is the near end of the world.
Following on Hollywood's almost sadistic and certainly over done trend of films about the end of the world, Knowing is a slow paced and somewhat megalomaniac film by director of I, Robot. The film doesn't stand out, the screenplay makes it seem like any other mystery thriller with a bigger budget.
Furthermore, the plot developments unravel too slowly and sometimes it just feels too dull.
