Review of Knowing (2009) by Sam C — 07 Sep 2013
I think this movie is great, despite the many flaws that it has. It touches on a subject that us today don't think or know about, and it does a good job in that. The movie has plenty of promise, but the lackluster script holds it back in a way.
Nicolas Cage puts on a decent performance, although his weird aspects do make an appearance in this film. Most of the scenes of this movie is either hit or miss. If a scene in this movie is done right, by god, it's great.
However, if a scene is done wrong, then the scene usually falters. The ending was...different. I wasn't really expecting how the movie ended, but I really didn't like it either. Is it a bad ending? No.
Could have it been better? Yes. All in all, this movie does a great job in being creepy, entertaining, and downright cool. And, come on, if Roger Ebert said this was one of the best sci-fi movies he has ever seen, then this film did something right.
Totally recommend a viewing!
