Review of Knowing (2009) by Paul L — 01 Nov 2013
Great piece of sci-fi nonsense. Nic Cage plays a professor whos son is handed a letter that was placed in a school time capsule and dug up after 50 years. where as all the other children are handed letters containing pictures (of what kids from 1959 thought 2009 would look like) Cage's son's letter is full of numbers. These numbers mean something sinister and predict all major disasters of the past 50 years including three that haven't happened yet! :-(.
Cage is ok but its a foreboding sense of doom that dominates this pic. Knowing has some minor negatives but genuine shocks and spooky moments mixed with a gritty and brutal reality raise this 'what if?' movie above recent sci-fi outings. splendid stuff! :-).
