Knowing is among the best science-fiction films I've seen -- frightening, suspenseful, intelligent and, when it needs to be, rather awesome. The final message may be trite, even saccharine, but Knowing would be pretty well unbearable without it. Proyas has made a truly haunting and terrifying film. This is a severely flawed, but also a fascinating and engrossing science fiction film, a picture that offers far more than surface thrills. It's just engaging enough to make you accept the possibility that two kids from the Boston suburbs may just be mankind's only hope for the future, and just exciting enough to make you forget that you're watching a Nicolas Cage movie. By being judicious with CGI, Proyas gives the film's handful of disaster sequences great impact. And the film's coup de grace - an apocalyptic wave of fire and brimstone - is so beautiful and terrifying, it will make the filmgoers both thank God for their quiet little lives and forget they ever saw Independence Day.

VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars).
