Review of Knock Off (1998) by Kerry H — 10 Apr 2008
Amazingly incompetent movie on so many levels it boggles the mind.
Once you get past the horrible, horrible teamup of Van Damme/Schneider, you'll have to deal with Tsui Hark's hysterical, unmotivated direction, flat jokes, a storyline that's achingly stupid... I won't even bother listing it all. (Keep your eyes peeled for the least similar stunt double in the World, though - it cracked me up on several occasions).
Still, the last half-hour offers a couple of spirited action sequences and some good, old-school JCVD chop-socky... barely rescuing this movie from the lowest rating possible.
