Review of Knock Knock (2015) by David C — 10 Oct 2015
Much like my friend, I was impressed by the setup and first act of Knock. It seemed as though maybe Eli Roth had grown into a more mature storyteller, capable of weaving satire and thrills into a well-constructed mystery.
And then he proved me wrong in one quick turn. A fascinating but very disappointing film, with villains that morph into completely impossible people that would never exist in society. Villains who basically act untouchable, but are doing the stupidest things to ensure they will be caught by the the police or federal forces at some point.
I find it impossible to believe they made it this far pulling these kind of tactics. Its so far beyond belief it just pisses me off that Roth can't develop a better story than this when the content is so potentially interesting.
