Review of Knock Knock (2015) by Neia G — 10 Aug 2017
Every now and then I watch a Keanu film in the hope that I might be surprised and see him act...then I see films like this and wonder why I thought such a thing. At one point in the film a character is making pancakes.
I think this to be a subtle allusion to the flatness of the acting, direction and script. Indeed this will be the only subtlety one can find here. I found myself willing 'Evan' to use an ounce of the intelligence he must have as a human only to realise that the scriptwriters must have been on a bet to see how many times they could pointlessly use the f word or maybe they fell asleep on a keyboard and accidentally hit copy and paste instead of giving Keanu's character even a hint of more than one dimension.
If you want a laugh at just how bad a film with a big name actor can be, then watch 'Knock Knock.' If you want a couple of hours of more meaningful existence, darn some socks, vacuum a towel or watch paint dry.
